Alton School Gets New Pipeline

The City of Alton is working both smart and hard.  The school district, in conjunction with the City, has begun a sewer refurbishing project at an area school parking lot. Not only is the project paramount, with the children out of school (happy are they!) it is smart timing.  The hard part will be the extensive labor involved in such a feat and the patience involved with the rain.  While the rain has been a bother for progress, workers on the job do not see it as an obstacle.  The work to be done involves 100 year old pipelines in the underground infrastructure that have normal wear and tear.  In agreement, the sanitary sewer replacement cost will be divided among the City and the school district.  Judson Avenue area residents, not to worry! The City is also planning to restore the pipelines that caused flooding to nearby homes last year and beyond.
